Brand New Part 1

Business Card

Introduction

For this project I wanted to create handbag to represent me as my business card.  I have also designed and made items to fit into the handbag.  The contents include a shoe that have a Phrase which mean something to me and reads “Life must be cherished with dreams and good will“ by my Father.  There is also a purse inside with a photo holder of some photos of the people which mean a lot to me.  And finally it has three small credit cards. Each card has an uplifting word written on .  Those words are Faith, Dream and Determination.
I had use the colours Yellow, Blue and Red to praise Colombian flag.

Introduction

The TBoard GG Table is a unique affordable, interactive multi-touch board game table, powered by the Raspberry Pi technology.

How it started

I was looking in my cupboard at Christmas time when I found some old board games.  Ludo, Monopoly, Snakes, Ladders and Chess.  It brought back to me how much fun you can have with them.  But what chance do they have against electronic devices.  Young people just don’t want to play.  They need to be revamped.  Then it came to me.  Why not invent an electronic table where you can play the old fashioned games and everyone can join in.

The T-Board GG Table

Think of all your family sitting around after a family dinner contemplating on how to pass the evening.  Do you let your kids take over the front room with their entertainment console or do you dust off some of the old board games?  Pass the time watching TV again?
Why not get the whole family to do something fun together around the coffee table?  Sound dull?  Boring?  Well now you have the TBoard GG Table to change how your family play together forever.
Think about the traditional games that your family used to play happily together for hours and hours and combine that with a Coffee Table that transforms into a multi-touch interactive gaming centre in the wink of an eye.

What’s unique about the TBoard GG Table, well instead of the TV being the centre of attention the table takes centre stage.  Without realising your new table will not be the only interactive thing in the room, your family will be interacting with one another as well.  Larger than any tablet and more affordable than more traditional interactive tables we can thank the World’s smallest computer.

How it works
The table will be powered by the World’s smallest computer called the Raspberry Pi.  Connected to a bulbless LED mini projector the internal mechanism will use flexi-mirrors to project on to the reverse side of our interactive multi-touch surface.

The Raspberry Pi Circuit Board

The Raspberry Pi is a low cost mini computer.  The board itself retails at £23.  It is the size of a credit card.  It was developed by engineers from Cambridge University as a tool for teaching kids to learn about computer programming.

A Mini Projector

Mini projectors such as the one above now cost around £100.  There are lots of different brands already on the market.  The LED bulb lasts up to 10,000 hours and doesn’t overheat.  Mirrors will be used to project to the underside surface of the screen.
The table will be waterproof, scratchproof and wipe clean.  Making it hard waring and long lasting.

Research and Development

There are other interactive tables on the market like the Smart Table that is used in education or others that are used to control devices in your front room, like your TV remote or to turn your lights down.  My table will be a custom built and unique in its design.

The Smart Table

The Smart Table from Smart Technologies is currently priced at £4650.  This might suit the budget of a specialist school but what I want is to target everyday families in their living rooms so the sale price will be much more affordable.

The Crystal Table Remote Control

The Cristal Table is currently in development stages and is due for release in 2014.  Cristal stands for Control of Remotely Interfaced Systems using Touch-based Actions in Living Spaces.  The price of a Cristal table is going to be between £7,000 and £10,000.

Conclusion

I feel very inspired by this design and I would love to take it further to see if any companies would be interested in developing it further.  My product will be the first of its kind to use board games and multi-touch table technology.  With this table I have made use of the technology that is now available to us and brought it together with an idea of revamping traditional holiday fun.

The truth is that board games will never go out of style.  They provide the basis for lots of modern games and they help children to learn.  People will be playing board games in 100 years from now regardless of what new technologies will have taken over by then.  I just hope that by then that the TBoard GG Table has become a cult classic.
